Myrzah Bello strategically advises industrial facilities, as an independent consultant, in meeting their greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction compliance obligations with a variety of market based mechanisms available for compliance such as identifying emission reductions within the facilities, purchasing emission units in auctions, offset purchases, etc. She assists facilities in negotiations with the provincial governments on caps and different elements of the legislation. In addition to the provincial stakeholder consultations, she also supports clients in the federal consultations regarding the carbon pricing framework and the clean fuel standard.
She has over 18 years of experience in the climate change field in Canada and abroad. Myrzah managed multi-disciplinary teams to deliver climate change mitigation and adaptation projects to industrial facilities, municipalities and governments. She worked from 2001 to 2016 at SNC-Lavalin’s Environment division where she held various roles which included leading the climate change group of experts for over 6 years, managing the environment division in Brazil for over 14 years and managing a variety of acoustics, air and climate change projects.
Myrzah is also a lecturer at Sherbrooke University where she delivers the course: Greenhouse Gases and Climate Change for master level students. She has a bachelor’s in business administration, a Master’s in business delivered jointly by Sherbrooke University and ESC Poitiers in France and a Master’s in Environment also from Sherbrooke University.
