Electricity Lead

Alex is an energy policy professional with 10+ years of experience in the energy and climate sector. He brings extensive experience, and knowledge to the topics of policy research and development, legislative advocacy, regulatory framework advocacy, and standards development. His experience spans federal, provincial, and municipal arenas and covers climate and energy focused advocacy at the policy, regulatory, legislative, standards, and judicial levels. His work has included, but is not limited to, integrating EV charging onto the grid, grid infrastructure modernization, advanced telecommunications for electrical utilities, and tax status for renewable energy.

Prior to joining the Transition Accelerator, Alex held several successive roles at Electricity Canada most recently as the Director of Distribution and Grid Modernization. And before then with such groups as the Canadian Geothermal Energy Association, and the Environmental Commissioner of Ontario. Alex is based out of Ottawa.
