CRH2: The Road to Hydrogen Fuelling in Calgary

Webinar Summary

Alberta has the potential to lead Canada’s clean energy transition, and a growing number of hydrogen mobility pilot projects are demonstrating the province’s unique advantages in the hydrogen space. Join experts from AMTA and the City of Calgary for a comprehensive update on key hydrogen mobility pilot projects currently interfacing with Calgary, including:

  • AMTA AZETEC Pilot: Discover the progress and lessons from this groundbreaking heavy-duty hydrogen fuel cell truck project exploring the viability of the Calgary – Edmonton transportation corridor.
  • Calgary Green Fleets Pilot: Learn how the City of Calgary is exploring integrating hydrogen into its municipal fleets, and the status and goals of the project.
  • Calgary Transit Bus Pilot: Gain insights into the proposed pilot that will put hydrogen fuel cell technology to the test in transit applications in Calgary.

Realizing the full impact of these initiatives will require robust and accessible fuelling infrastructure in the Calgary region. After outlining these pilots, this session will engage in a critical discussion about the current challenges holding back the widespread adoption of hydrogen for transportation in the Region, along with strategies to optimize infrastructure for maximum efficiency and impact.
