National Building Decarbonization Forum

Event Summary

On November 26 and 27, 2025, the Building Decarbonization Alliance is bringing together industry experts, construction professionals, civil society representatives, government officials, Indigenous leaders, and others to explore the most promising pathways to reducing emissions from the building sector, and to develop a plan of action.

The National Building Decarbonization Forum: Insights Into Action will unpack the challenges and opportunities in this transition, and develop a shared vision for action through engaging discussions, information exchange, and opportunities to connect with other professionals committed to moving Canada’s building sector towards its emissions goals.

Additional Details

The BDA team has put together an agenda that responds to the most pressing topics facing Canada’s building sector. In addition to keynote presentations from Dr. Jan Rosenow and Chantal Hébert, this year’s program features three breakout blocks exploring Market Activation, Delivery Capacity, and System Enablers, tackling each theme from the perspectives of Implementation & Scale, Investments & Cost-Effectiveness, and Energy System Policy & Planning.

These breakout sessions are built with engagement in mind. The NBDF’s attendees include the building sector’s leading voices, and we want to learn from everyone in the room as we co-create a National Building Decarbonization Action Plan. Be ready to be put to work!

New for 2025, we’ve added a set of Open Space – Industry-Led Roundtables that will see BDA partners leading discussions on the subjects that matter most to their work. It’s a chance to enable deeper collaboration and focused action, providing cross-sector perspectives on timely topics.

Lastly, the agenda features plenty of room for connection, with ample networking breaks and our Day One Reception. Don’t miss your chance to meet with 200+ peers and experts from across the building sector.
