The race to net zero is on.
If Canada wants to lead, we must accelerate electrification.
Electrifying Canada is here to guide the way.
Vision & Mission
Our vision is a future where widespread electrification enables an affordable, resilient, and clean energy system that powers Canada’s economy.
Our mission is to convene a diverse task force including industry, organized labour, Indigenous groups and civil society that work to accelerate end-use electrification and the buildout of net-zero electricity systems.
Our activity streams
Research & Analysis
We develop qualitative and quantitative analysis to advance net-zero electricity system planning and pathways to meet end-use electrification.
Public Outreach
We engage in outreach and communications efforts to increase awareness and buy-in for widespread electrification amongst policy makers, businesses, and local communities.
Developing Policy Frameworks
We develop policy frameworks to address key barriers to accelerated electrification and net-zero electricity system buildout. These policy frameworks consider climate mitigation and adaptation along with the economic, competitive, and job benefits that widespread electrification will unlock.
Enabling Collaboration
Coordination, convening, and partnership building are essential ingredients to understanding and realizing the buildout of a modern electricity system. As a sustained forum, we facilitate partnerships, knowledge sharing, and policy development amongst industry, labour, Indigenous leaders, civil society, financial institutions, power producers, and system regulators.
