This report was published by the Canadian Energy Systems Analysis Research (CESAR), a supporter of The Transition Accelerator.

As the third report in our ‘Future of Freight’ Series, this study explores Alberta’s potential to provide low or zero-emission alternatives to the fossil diesel that is currently made from Alberta oil in North America. Combining the insights generated from this study with those from the previous two reports positions hydrogen as an exciting new opportunity for Alberta to lead the transition to a net zero Canada, while re-energising its economy.
