Katrine Claassens

Director of Communications

Katrine Claassens is an experienced communicator specializing in creating meaningful engagement in the areas of the clean economy, climate adaptation and science, and climate-smart agriculture. She has a passion for working on projects that shift thinking and catalyze action, and has collaborated with academics, policymakers, and government stakeholders to create compelling narratives for complex issues.

Before joining the Transition Accelerator, she directed communications at McGill’s School of Public Policy and the African Climate Development Initiative. She also worked in communications for Canada’s Ecofiscal Commission. She holds a B.A. Hons. and a Masters in Climate Change from the University of Cape Town.
