Hydrogen HUB Leader
Jacob Lamb is a transportation engineer, PhD Candidate, and sessional instructor in the Civil Engineering department at the University of Calgary. Before moving to Canada, he had four years of experience working on national heavy-duty truck movements and infrastructure maintenance programming and gained professional training in project management and leadership from both the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, UK, and the Chartered Management Institute, UK. He also earned his Masters of Civil Engineering at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, and is a published researcher. Since then, his PhD work has involved building analytical models to plan and understand the impact of emerging technologies that are transparent and adaptable to stakeholders, and thus useful and credible to them. Jacob also volunteers as a graduate student advocate, serving in multiple positions within his community, including executive positions in the non-profit provincial advocacy group, abGPAC. These life experiences and educations have informed Jacob’s leadership and university teaching philosophy; that belief in capability and goal value are necessary for motivation and necessary for successful planning and commitment.
Jacob now brings these skills, knowledge, and philosphy to the Accelerator to co-create the future of operational and strategic benefits that hydrogen heavy-duty vehicle technologies offer as he works closely with commercial fleet vehicle stakeholders.
