Online Privacy Policy

LAST AMENDED – January 12, 2022

Introduction

The Transition Accelerator (“The Accelerator”, “we” or “us”) has established this online privacy policy so that you can understand the care with which we intend to treat your personal information. Personal information means any information about an identifiable individual, including, but not limited to, a first and last name, an e-mail address, or other contact information.

You can visit The Accelerator web pages without providing any of your personal information. If you choose to provide us with your personal information through any of our web forms, we will collect, use, and disclose that information within The Accelerator, for the purposes associated with the applicable form. We follow this policy regarding your personal information collected through our website and through email and other electronic messages between you and us. The Accelerator will not disclose your personal information without your consent to third parties who are not bound to act on The Accelerator’s behalf unless such transfer is legally required. It is against The Accelerator’s policy to sell personal information collected online without consent.

This online privacy policy does not apply to links to third party websites or services. We recommend that you review the privacy policies of these third parties to understand their privacy practices.

What are cookies and how does The Accelerator use them?

Cookies are small text files containing a unique identifier that are placed on your device’s hard drive or other storage medium to store information about your web browsing and usage.

Like most websites, The Accelerator relies on cookies and other commonly used technologies such as pixels to provide website functionality, provide necessary secure areas and the best experience for our users. Cookies and pixels let The Accelerator know which pages are being visited, by how many people, how long they stay on a page and other statistics that are useful in relation to the use of our site (collectively, “Usage Information”).

Usage Information is used to help The Accelerator understand how our site is used and how it may be improved. The Accelerator does not combine information that is gathered with the use of Cookies with any personal information we have collected. By using the The Accelerator website, you give us, and trusted third parties, who are bound by contractual obligations to keep Usage Information confidential, consent to collect Usage Information using cookies and similar technologies. Most browsers have been set up to accept cookies, however you may set up your browser to accept, reject or notify you when a cookie is sent. If you reject or decline the cookies you may be unable to use some of the features of our web site.

Consent

You may choose whether to provide your personal information to The Accelerator. If you choose not to provide personal information, you can still visit our website, but you will be unable to submit forms or receive our e-marketing material without providing express consent. We will generally obtain your express consent to collect any personal information that we require. Express consent may be given verbally or in writing, including by electronic means.

Depending on the circumstances, your consent may be express or implied.  Implied consent can be inferred from the circumstances.

Consent may also be withdrawn by contacting us at the address noted below. Please note, however, that withdrawal of consent previously obtained may inhibit The Accelerator’s ability to provide continued services. If you choose to have a relationship with TA, contractual or other, we will continue to contact you in regard to that specific business relationship or transaction.

For clarity, your ability to change or withdraw consent is not absolute.  The Accelerator reserves the right to continue handling your personal information in those circumstances required or permitted by law despite a change or withdrawal of consent.

Requests for updating personal information can be sent to the address below.

Security & Retention

Wherever your personal information may be held within The Accelerator or on its behalf, we intend to take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect the personal information that you share with us from unauthorized access or disclosure.

For legal and business purposes we may retain your personal information for as long as it is reasonably needed. Upon expiry of the appropriate retention period, bearing in mind our reasonable legal and business requirements, your personal information will either be destroyed in a secure manner or made anonymous.

Agreement & Changes to Policy

By using the The Accelerator website, you agree to the terms of this online privacy policy and consent to The Accelerator’s collection and use of personal information for the purposes set out in this policy, as well as collection and use of Usage Information. Should the online privacy policy change, changes will be brought to your attention by posting all changes prominently on our website for a reasonable period. It is your responsibility to ensure that you continue to agree with the Terms of this online privacy policy by revisiting the online privacy policy as posted on our website from time to time.
