Lina Kattan is a Professor of Civil Engineering at the Schulich School of Engineering, University of Calgary, Canada. She is the director of the NSERC CREATE program in Integrated Infrastructure for Sustainable Cities (IISC) that is conducted in collaborations with three other Canadian universities. She is a member of the College of the New Scholars, Artists and Scientists of the Royal Society of Canada.
Dr. Kattan‘s research program focuses on developing solutions to urban transportation problems with a special focus on emerging technologies, connected and autonomous vehicles, traffic flow theory and control, optimization of the transportation network, public transport operation, dynamic demand modelling, and traveller behavioural response to emerging transportation technologies.
Dr. Kattan’s academic background includes a BSc and MSc in Civil Engineering from the American University of Beirut and PhD in Transportation from the University of Toronto.
