Analysis of the commercial and institutional buildings sector

This report constitutes a description and analysis of the building sector, and in particular of C&I buildings in Quebec and in Canada. The goal is to best understand how this sector works from a technical, economical, social and structural point of view, to be able to build pathways allowing improvements of the sectors’ operation, while decarbonizing the sector in order to reach Canada’s climate objectives.

Transition Pathway Principal

Normand Mousseau, PhD, is a professor of physics at Université de Montréal and Academic Director of the Trottier Energy Institute at Polytechnique Montréal. His research includes the study of complex materials, energy and natural resources. He is actively involved with energy and climate policy, having co-chaired the Quebec Commission on Energy Issues in 2013, and published a number of books in this field.
